WEINER POWERS UP INTERNET CAMPAIGN
DEBUTS NEW INTERNET AD
UNVEILS NEW, MORE USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE
New York City – Today, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens & Brooklyn) made an aggressive move into cyberspace, debuting a new Internet campaign ad and unveiling a new, more user-friendly website.
The ad, titled “Change”, was produced by Weiner’s media consultant Jim Margolis of GMMB, an issues communications firm in Washington D.C.
In the ad, one of Mayor Bloomberg’s television commercials plays in the background while Weiner talks about his new ideas for a better New York City, including lower taxes for the middle class, cutting waste out of the City budget, and better pay for our teachers. A complete frame by frame is attached to this release.
The new Weiner website—www.anthonyweiner.com—features updated graphics, easier navigation, videos, a Weiner middle class tax cut calculator where New Yorkers can find out at the click of a button how much they’ll save under the Weiner 10% income tax cut, a “count up” of the amount of money the Mayor has spent on his television commercials, as well as comprehensive information about Weiner’s positions on important issues, speeches, press releases and a blog that will be frequently updated with the latest campaign news.
The website also provides a platform for new features that are coming soon, such as Spanish translation and a “Where’s Weiner” calendar of events.
“While Mayor Bloomberg’s campaign will be about spending millions of dollars, mine will be about new ideas and real solutions,” said Rep. Weiner. “I’m going to keep talking about cutting taxes on the middle class, eliminating waste from the City budget and paying teachers what they deserve to make sure the best stay in our classrooms. My campaign is about ideas not money, better ideas for the middle class and those aspiring to get there.”
