COLTON: WEINER “A BROOKLYN BORN FIGHTER”
Brooklyn, NY – Today, State Assemblyman William Colton (D-Brooklyn) announced his support for Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-Brooklyn & Queens) campaign for Mayor.
“From opposing waste being trucked down our streets, to cutting taxes for our hardworking middle class, to valuing our children’s education, Anthony Weiner has earned by support,” said Assemblyman Colton.
Weiner said:“William Colton is a great leader, and no one has fought harder than he has for Bensonhurst and Southwest Brooklyn.He’s led the fight against the waste transfer station, he’s led the fight against overdevelopment in our neighborhoods, and he’s always stood up for our seniors.I am honored to have his support, and I look forward to standing side by side with him as we take back City Hall for the residents of Southwest Brooklyn.”
A former school teacher, Assemblyman Colton was elected to the New York State Assembly in 1996.
He is chair of the Assembly’s Solid Waste Commission.
