Weiner Hits Ferrer On Stocks Tax

BY MICHAEL SAUL DAILY NEWS CITY HALL BUREAU

"Mr. Ferrer has suggested that we, the city taxpayers, who have been shortchanged all these years, should put more than a billion dollars on the table in the form of a tax increase - and I just think that's a bad idea," Weiner said during a round-table discussion on "Good Day Street Talk," which is slated to air on Fox 5 at 6 a.m. today.

Responding to Weiner, Ferrer said, "Anthony, you're a member of the Congress, you really ought to know better, and I've corrected you on this a number of times.

But Weiner, who is trying to bolster his standing in the polls, came right back at the former Bronx borough president.

Ferrer then wrapped it up saying, "Well, I like you, too, Anthony. I really do."

Stu Loeser, Bloomberg's spokesman, said, "So many New Yorkers are working so hard to rebuild lower Manhattan that it's a real shame to see it criticized by those who sit on the sidelines."
