Security funds wasted, he sez

Rep. Anthony Weiner slammed Congress yesterday for spending the nation's homeland security funds on a host of projects in rural America at the expense of the security of New York City.

"You're probably more likely to get funded if you're going to have a trailer for your state fair in a rural state than if you're trying to protect subways here in New York City," said Weiner (D-Queens, Brooklyn), a member of the House subcommittee on crime, terrorism and homeland security and a mayoral hopeful.

He urged that funding be doled out in order of security priority.
